English as a Second Language (ESL)
English as a Second Language (ESL) is particularly important to University City's diverse and growing community. The aim of the program is to provide students, for whom English is not their primary language, with a working knowledge of English in preparation for citizenship tests, the workplace, additional education, and daily living.
Meet Moussa Ba, June 2009 ESL Student Graduate:
"My current classroom teacher, Linda, and her husband have been my teachers. My current tutors Jack and Toni and Toni’s husband have also been my teachers. I have to give them special thanks.
The Director of the school, Mr. Clay Ware, and the administration have provided me with an opportunity for which I wish to give great thanks.
My fellow students have also been my teachers. I am very proud to think that I have assisted in teaching them. I owe the large number of students with whom I have shared the gift of education my great thanks.
I certainly must thank God for letting me do all that I have done as a result of this school."
